GENERAL PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Business Entities Controller, incumbent will be primarily responsible to perform all daily general accounting duties including the processing of payroll and procurement related transactions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Process for payment payroll, employee benefit and 401K transactions accurately and in a timely manner in compliance with the Department of Labor and Taos Pueblo policies. • Process for payment purchase orders, invoices, loans, statements, vouchers, and/or other check requests. • Responsible for accounts receivable billing and reconciliation. • Maintain an accurate reconciliation of all employee benefit billings and payroll deductions. • Deposit and record to the general ledger all funds received accurately and in a timely manner. • Process and reconcile all travel authorizations including registration, hotel, flight and advances. • Draft and maintain standard forms including accounting, human resources, general office and Tribal Council resolutions. • Maintain all accounting files in compliance with record retention guidelines in a simple auditable form including W-4 and W-9 maintenance. • May be requested to perform other duties as assigned by Business Entities Controller. Incumbent keeps CFO and Tribal Government informed and up-to-date on tasks, progress, or projects. • Team Leadership Incumbent must effectively manage and guide group efforts by providing an appropriate level of feedback to both individuals and groups regarding their performance and progress. • Collect and Organize Information Incumbent needs to be able to identify, systematically collect, and organize information for use by self or others in an organization. • Arithmetic & Mathematical Reasoning Incumbent must use and apply mathematical techniques, processes, and concepts to understand and solve problems.
