BASIC PURPOSE:
Incumbent in this position is responsible for providing customer service and cashiering services to Taos Pueblo Smoke Shop customers. TYPICAL FUNCTIONS: Assist customers in the purchase of product, answer questions like pricing and quality. Compute totals of transactions using a cash register, received payment by cash or credit/debit cards, and issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. Count cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and the there is adequate change to conduct the shift. Cash out at end of shift, accurate accounting of cash drawer, make deposit to the bank and send all paperwork to accounting ensuring accuracy of totals and deposits, recording variances. Maintain clean and orderly shop, stock shelves, check for outdated items. Control point-of-sales inventory by monitoring for shoplifters, bad checks and credit cards. Advise supervisor of ordering needs and stock outs of the Smoke Shop inventory. Answer Smoke Shop telephone to provide customers with shop hours and product information.

High School Diploma, or equivalent, AND experience in retail business operations, customers service, or cashiering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extended working hours, including weekends, may be required. Must possess Class III Gaming License.
