Cashier

OVERVIEW: As a Gate Cashier you are the key point of contact for information to all visitors. We entrust you
to provide accurate information, collect all relevant admission and fees, and greet each guest
with respect, courtesy, and kindness. As a Gate Cashier you become the central core for the
Parking Monitors, Tour Guides, and Tourism Management.
As a tribal employee of Taos Pueblo Tourism, you also represent the community of Taos Pueblo
and Tribal Government. It is your job to provide quality customer service and highlight Taos
Pueblo in a positive manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma/GED
• Driver’s license
• Cashiering experience (plus)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
• Must have a valid NM driver’s license and be insurable under Taos Pueblo’s insurance
policy

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The cashier position is specifically responsible for the following protocol and procedure to
ensure tribal assets are attained in the most transparent and efficient way possible. Policy and
procedure are to be followed for all currency transactions. It is up to the cashier to create a
welcoming experience for the customer.

• Customer Service skills (training will be provided)
• Currency handling
• Cashier positions are subject to working odd hours, holidays, and other events
related to the Tourism Department.
• Willing to learn new POS (Point of Sale) Systems
• Open to a changing environment
• Assist with enforcing Policy and Procedure for customers/visitors/tourists visiting
Taos Pueblo.
• Maintaining and cleaning hardware in the cash room area.
• Other duties apply as assigned.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Competent in computer basics & willing to learn new skills; writing skills, problem solving.
Communication, cashier position is very important to the experience of the visitor.
