JOB SUMMARY

Under the Director of Operations, the Security Supervisor prevents theft and fraud by overseeing security officers and protecting casino patrons, employees, and assets while following applicable laws and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and upholds the casino’s mission and values (integrity, professionalism, accountability, and respect)

Uphold the mission and values of Taos Mountain Casino by demonstrating integrity, professionalism, accountability, and consideration for others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operations & Safety

    • Oversees daily security operations for casino and surrounding areas

    • Enforces policies and procedures

    • Responds to threats and emergency situations

    • Assists investigations of gaming violations

    • Controls emergency events including evacuation or shutdown

    Patrol & Monitoring

    • Patrols gaming floor and checks machines, drop doors, and lots

    • Identifies suspicious activity

    • Controls restricted areas

    • Performs safety inspections and hazard reporting

    • Uses surveillance systems and two-way radios

    Customer & Public Interaction

    • Assists guests with directions, emergencies, and concerns

    • Verifies patron age and checks intoxication

    • Works with police, fire, and government agencies

    • Maintains professionalism and customer service

    Financial & Documentation

    • Verifies jackpots and transports money/chips

    • Completes reports, logs, and investigations

    • Manages lost-and-found program

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

    • Oversees daily activities of security officers

    • Prepares schedules and monitors attendance

    • Coaches, disciplines, and trains staff

    • Conducts briefings and meetings

    • Participates in training and staff development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Age 21 or older

  • 3+ years security experience (casino preferred)

  • 1+ year supervisory experience

  • Gaming Commission / Title 31 certification

  • CPR certification

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Must pass background check and drug test

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and communicate effectively. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and lift up to 50 pounds. Close vision ability and clarity of vision at longer distance are required. Employee may be exposed frequently to dust, fumes, airborne particles, and/or allergens; excessive noise; and to hostile, offensive, or violent individuals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is generally performed in an office/casino setting with a moderate to excessive noise level. Evening and/or weekend work will be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Travel may be required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.

 Tools used in performing the essential functions of the job: general office supplies and equipment, radios, surveillance monitors, handcuffs , basic troubleshooting systems, and typical office software.
