SUMMARY:

Prepares, seasons, cooks and serves hot and cold food for clients and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Keep work area in a clean and organized fashion, included but not limited to
    serving utensils, China glassware, flatware, and countertops.
  • Check menu for all items needed when coming on duty, ensuring that all foods
    listed on menu are available.
  • Accurately prepares and serves food to client.
  • Organizes work area before production begins by obtaining food items and
    necessary equipment before hand. Plan cooking and scheduling by reviewing
    production records to determine type quantities of food to be prepared.
  • Accurately measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes using a variety or
    kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Bakes, roast, broils and steam food; always using meat thermostat.
  • Assures that all food holding temperatures are correct and recorded as requires.
  • Observes and tastes all food and adds ingredients or seasoning to improve flavor
    or texture as needed within.
  • Assists in the preparation and/or assembly of snacks.
  • Deliver and retrieves food and supplies.
  • Store food items in a safe and sanitary manner to include labeling with name of
    item and date.
  • Maintain equipment and utensils for cleanliness and safe operation following.
  • Follows instruction for diluting, labeling, and using chemicals.
  • Proper washing techniques and use of chemicals for washing and rinsing.
  • Promptly reports equipment in need of repair.
  • Consistently check holding temperatures of food to ensure safety and adherence
    to sanitation guidelines.
  • Regular attendance and ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and various
    as needed.
  • Attend and participates in educational programs, in-service and departmental
    meetings.

JOB TITLE: SNACK BAR STAFF
DEPARTMENT: DEPT. 440
SUPERVISOR: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

  • Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment physical, criminal records,
    and back ground check.
  • Reports to supervisor any suggestions for continuous improvement within the
    scope of support service department’s function.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Maintain a cheerful and friendly disposition at all times. Must maintain high
    degree of confidentiality at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be in satisfactory physical condition including good vision and mobility.
  • Must be able to withstand varying temperatures and noise.
  • Standing and walking up to 7 hours a day.
  • Reaching, bending and lifting and carrying up to 36 pounds (Carts and dollies are
    available)
  • Proper dress attires and hair restraints consistent with health and safety
    regulations is required.
  • May be able to work weekends, night shift, holidays, shift work and overtime.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE;

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Eighteen (18) months experience in food preparation
  • Food service kitchen help or work of related nature in commercial
  • Hotel, institutional or hospital kitchen of which six (6) months must have involved actual food preparation. (Certificate in Culinary Arts will substitute for required experience).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must obtain a gaming license through Taos Pueblo Gaming Commission.
